Supporting social entrepreneurs, social purpose organisations and big-hearted businesses to create real and sustainable social impact

The essence of a regular yoga and meditation practice is not just about feeling more flexible, balanced and positive within, but also being able to share that inspiration with the world around you. In addition to being a meditation teacher, our Co-Founder Jess is also the Director of Social Enterprise, Innovation and Impact at YMCA Victoria.
Before starting One Big Love she worked in international aid and development for 10 years in Australia, Mexico, India and Indonesia managing Oxfam Australia’s Youth Programs. She is an experienced strategist, program and team leader, consultant, facilitator and public speaker and loves supporting social entrepreneurs, community organisations and big hearted businesses to create real and lasting social impact.

Supporting the next generation of impact entrepreneurs

In 2018, the Youth for Causes program – which introduces young people to social enterprise and supports them to get an idea off the ground for a cause they care about, was awarded the Program of Excellence by YMCA Victoria and YMCA Australia.

Jess has also led on a number of other social impact initiatives such as Karma Camper (a social enterprise camper van), Social Enterprise Tours and Workshops and Oxfam’s youth active global citizenship programs.

In 2019 Jess was invited as a guest presenter at the Y175 global youth conference in London, where she shared her experiences and inspired audiences with the possibilities of business to create positive social impact.

Punyam Feast Social Enterprise

In 2017 we launched ‘Punyam Feast’ cooking experiences to immerse you into the culture and cuisine of Southern India.

‘Punyam’, which is Sanskrit for ‘good deed’ or ‘good merit’, is a social enterprise. This means that once our costs have been taken care of, the profits go towards community development projects in Kerala, India.

To date we have raised funds for the Punyam Orphanage and also supported relief efforts following the 2018 floods in Kerala.
